Kesä lähestyy ja samalla melontaretket. Viimevuotiset sukat ovat jo vanuttuneet ja muodottomat - oli aika neuloa uudet sukat uusia seikkailuja varten.

Ensin kaivelin piirongstani sukkalankoja. Suurin osa oli liian hienoja retkikäyttöön. Paras vaihtoehto oli Filonan sukkalanka (made in Turkey), mutta miksi ihmeessä olin ostanut tämän väristä lankaa??? Kauniimmista langoista en kuitenkaan raaskinut retkisukkia neuloa.

Lanka ei tuntunut kovin laadukkaalta, mutta se ei haittaa, kunhan sukat kestävät tämän kesän. Outoa langassa oli se, että kesken toisen sukan värien järjestys muuttui päinvastaiseksi!

Ohje: Feather and Fan socks (tosin muutin ohjetta hiukan). Kuvio aaltoilee mukavasti järven laineiden lailla.

I needed new socks for my canoeing trips this summer. I had knitted camping socks last year but they were already really worn out, so it was time to knit new ones. I have a lot of sock yarns in my stash, but it was hard to choose the right one for this project. Too many of my sock yarns are too nice for this purpose. I ended up with Filona which was made in Turkey. I can't understand why on earth I had chosen yarn with these colours - aren't they just awful? I do like red and blue and green but these are just ugly! But the socks are for camping so it doesn't matter.

The pattern is Feather and Fan socks. I had to change the pattern a little bit because otherwise the socks would have been too big for me. Anyways the pattern is perfect for canoeing socks as the stripes remind me of calm waves of a lake.
