Näin sitten päädyin purkamaan Irish Hiking Scarfin, kun en saa siihen lisää lankaa.... Kiitos Päiville vaivannäöstä langan etsimisessä! Langasta tulee jotain muuta myöhemmin ja nyt sitten kaivelen piironkiani ja mietin, mistä mie tämän neuloisin. Vaihtoehtoja on useita, mutta ensin aijon selvittää saako näitä lankoja lisää. Huomaattekos, mie olen oppinut jotain!
I knitted or actually started to knit an Irish Hiking Scarf, but ran out of wool. You can't buy more of this wool and the scarf ended up too short. This is very typical of me. I start to knit without really planning (I'm just too eager) and then end up in trouble because I don't have enough yarn and I can't find more. So yesterday I unravelled the scarf and started to dig into my dresser to find a new yarn and try to figure out if you can still buy more.
Ajattelin, että koolaamalla saisin sopivaa lankaa huiviin. Olinhan saanut keväällä salaiselta neuleystävältäni sekä ohjeet että Kool Aidia. Itse koolaus oli helppoa, mutta väreistä tuli aika kamalia. En ole vaaleanpunaisen ystävä enkä aijo missään nimessä neuloa vaaleanpunaista kaulahuivia! Kummityttöni tuumasivat, ettei väri ole niin paha. Täytyypä tänään kysäistä, että haluaisivatko he jotain neulottua tästä väristä. Muuten langat taitavat päätyä miun ilmoitustaululle! Sitten kävi vielä niin, että olin solminut vyyhdet huonosti ja siinä sekoitellessani vyyhteja, sidelangat irtosivat yhdestä vyyhdestä ja tuloksena on aikamoinen sotku, jota nyt selvittelen varmaan koko ensi viikon. Ja vielä lopuksi, kun illalla kävin hakemassa kuivuneet vyyhdet ulkoa, ihmetteliin, että miksi ne haisevat ihan kool aidille ja hoksasin samassa, etten ollut muistanut huuhdellut vyyhtejä.
One of the things I thought was that I would use Kool Aid to dye some yarn for the scarf. I received some Kool Aid pouches and instructions from my Finnish secret friend this winter. Dyeing was easy, but the colors turned out aweful! I do not like pink!!!! I will not knit a pink scarf!!!! My nieces thought the color was not so bad. I must ask them if they want something knitted in pink otherwise I will donate it to somebody else. I also managed to loose the tie in one of the skeins and it became an aweful mess which I'll have to sort out this week. In the evening when I went outside to bring the skeins in I noticed that they still smelled Kool Aid and realized I had forgotten to rinse them. Anyways, I still have some wool and Kool Aid and will try again - not for the scart though.
